Communications Director

I provided both strategy and delivery for a wide range of projects and programmes. The cutting edge research was particularly inspiring. I loved helping to translate researchers’ hard work, inspiration, and excitement into something that could shift perspectives, change policy, and connect with non-researchers.

Highlights include:

  • building the communications plan for a multi-million-dollar, world-leading programme. The focus is how to attribute individual weather events and their costs to climate change
  • planning and implementing a memorialisation of the 10-year anniversary of the Canterbury quakes. This demonstrated advances in science through videos, media articles, and podcasts
  • writing reports and op-eds around managed retreat and climate adaptation

The work I’m proudest of in this role includes:

Ceridwyn can effortlessly condense and translate scientific and academic work into impactful communications tailored to the audience required. She also has the ability to quickly connect with people (always putting clients and colleagues at ease), has an incredible work ethic, is absolutely authentic everyday, and will always keep the public good in mind.
